A Final Warning to Planet Earth
By Guillaume Chapron, Harold Levrel, Yves Meinard, and Franck Courchamp
15 364 scientists from 184 countries recently issued a ‘warning to humanity’ and presented a radical agenda to protect planet Earth.
We, the billions of people believing in human exceptionalism, categorically reject this agenda and issue in return a stark warning to planet Earth. No amount of facts showing that planet Earth is in a dire state will have us changing our mindset, thank you very much. We do not care about planet Earth. We care about our next devices and their latest cool features. We want more stuff. The signatories of Ripple et al. ignore the obvious facts that the era when poets could marvel at the diversity of flower or insect species is over, and that real-world wildlife has now become obsolete. We simply take our smartphones to overlay customized virtual creatures on our surrounding environment and dispose of them when new trends dictate. There is no longer a need to preserve filthy and dangerous wildlife that moreover lives in places where Amazon Prime does not deliver. More iPhones are sold in a few days than there are tigers, elephants, and gorillas on the planet: this should alert the signatories to what really matters, were they not ideologically biased against human progress.
Those scientists argue that we are approaching many of the planetary limits. We refuse to accept any type of limits: growth must indefinitely prevail unrestricted. We officially summon planet Earth to abandon its intransigent attitude and accept the inevitable: an extension of its biological and physical limits. Should planet Earth stick with its hardline ideological stance, it needs to be aware that mankind will never compromise and that we will seek a second planet. The universe is like our ambition: limitless.
The new economy of nature, whereby ecosystem services such as pollination are monetarily valued, should not be understood as another dogmatic way of protecting planet Earth. It is instead a call to producers and shareholders to conquer new markets by out competing nature with better services at a cheaper price for consumers. Ecosystems must fight for their survival like any other business. Protecting nature would moreover give it an undue competitive advantage against our industries. If our agricultural practices endanger the bees that pollinate crops, this does not imply we should change these practices. Instead we will let bees disappear and replace them by AI-powered microdrones – which create many jobs and do not sting.
The obvious ideological aim of Ripple et al. is to inspire a generation of scientists to ask broader questions relevant to over consumption and overpopulation, and how our institutions can meet the challenge of reducing human pressure on planet Earth. We find this unacceptable and call on the 15 364 signatories to join us on the side of winners against planet Earth, and hence to symbolically withdraw their signatures by not engaging in any of the research suggested in the warning to humanity. Fellow scientists, ask not what more you can do for planet Earth, ask what more planet Earth can do for you. And note how politicians on both the left and right are already united in this truly bipartisan issue that beautifully transcends the political divide: worshipping growth and denying that we depend on our environment.
We therefore strongly oppose the agenda accompanying the warning to humanity and will not tolerate any obstacle to our way of life – be it tree-huggers or the trees themselves. At the first Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro in 1992, the 41st US President claimed ‘our way of life is not up for negotiation’. Today, speaking in the name of billions of people, we proudly claim to all be US presidents. Planet Earth: consider yourself warned.

Celebrating New Victories - Vice President

Celebrating New Victories - Vice President
“After a few minutes, my great friend and State House Comptroller, Matere Keriri, requested me to accompany him to the President’s office.
The President greeted me in his usual genial manner and we sat down. He spoke of his late deputy, adding that since we were through with the mourning, government business had to continue. Without further ado, he said that he had decided I should replace his late deputy to continue with the good work Kijana Wamalwa had been doing. This was a big Surprise for me! I thanked him and he rose from his seat and we hugged each other. I was going to be the ninth VP of the Republic of Kenya! It was September 25 September, 2003.
A bell suddenly rung in my mind. Kijana Wamalwa had been a popular and powerful VP but without a Ministerial portfolio. .......I had enjoyed working at the Ministry of Home Affairs particularly the Prisons department and so I asked the President if I could keep the ministry and he readily agreed and I thanked him again.
The President was yet to make a formal announcement about our appointments, so we were asked not to tell anyone about it but to return to State House at 2.30pm. Back in the office, I kept the news to myself not even my Secretary knew that I was the Vice - President.
I suspended all my engagements of the day.
I was taken aback when I found Musikari Kombo already at State House with his wife and a few relatives in tow. I had understood that I was to tell nobody till the President’s announcement so I made my appearance alone! After the swearing in, The President had a few words of advice and bade us farewell. I was dying to call my wife with the news. Before stepping out of State House I got a chance to call her. She had already heard the news and was very agitated as there were so many security officers in our compound. She wanted to know when I would be home.I told her I would see her later and I went out of State House ready for my new office in town.
If the day was dramatic so far, what I found at the entrance of State Houseas I got out suprised me even more. Everything seemed to be happening at at breakneck speed. My modest Pajero car had disappeared. In its place a convoy of new, big Mercedez cars and a Land Rover with new bodyguards and an aide.

How to Make Your Dreams a Reality

One of the great joys of leading organizations is to create a vision, define a strategy, and do their implementation, including obviously the organizational change aspects. Very often, once I created this vision, I am confronted with either proposing a strategy that speeds up the creation of immediate value for the business while making shortcuts, or take more time to build the right foundations while doing the right thing, and consequently delay the business value creation. In other words, having on one side the short-term impact, and on the other the long-term sustainability.
As we all know, nothing is black or white, and we always end up picking a strategy that tries to take the best of both worlds. And I believe this dilemma is even more pronounced in Data & Analytics (D&A).
This post will try to explain the situation numerous companies are facing today and propose 7 areas D&A leaders should focus on to ease our journey.“A dream doesn't become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work” (Colin Powell)
A complex environment
  • Deal with the pressure of the stakeholders for immediate results,
  • Navigate through the politics of D&A ownership,
  • Absorb budgets cuts whereas exceptional investments have to happen,
  • Struggle to hire the right skills and talents in a sparse D&A job market,
  • Suffer from a lack of understanding on the importance of their mission across the company,
  • Need to drive huge change management efforts that sometimes go so deep it can even interfere with company culture,
  • Face the inertia of organizations that have also been through so many company-wide transformations in the past decades,
  • Juggle with compliance and evolving regulations (e.g. GxP, HIPAA, GDPR…),
  • Ensure the decisions made for today do not put at risk the overall long-term IT strategy,
  • Balance the usage of specialized tools and solutions with the overall IT architecture,
  • Embrace the pace of technology evolution, especially when it comes to Cloud computing.
There is no silver bullet
1. Foundations, foundations, foundations
2. There is no such thing as a free lunch
3. Crawling before running
4. Technology is no longer the problem to solve
5. To be data driven, data need to become a company asset
6. A flexible organization
7. Educate

Unless you are a newly created company embracing digital at the core of your business
model where managing, governing and analyzing data are foundational capabilities from day one, you are currently facing a common issue: trying to become a ‘data driven company’. To achieve what is behind these 3 words when you have been operating outside of the right model, takes a humongous effort that is probably an exponential function of the company size and age. From readings to exchanges with peers in other industries, a common theme emerges: all big corporations that have been leading their businesses for decades without anticipating the rise of the digital era are lagging behind today in D&A. The lack of on-going investments in data and analytics for years results in a very painful situation. To catch up, they now have to climb Mt Everest at the pace of a 100m race. And I would add, without the right preparation!! Leaders of D&A need to be the Sherpas of their respective companies, trying to place the cursor of their effort and strategy at the right spot between the ‘black’ and the ‘white’.
To make the situation even more difficult to manage, D&A leaders have to:
By the way, I believe it is what makes this job so interesting, rewarding and motivating. For sure, it is not boring!!!
So, what should we do? Here are some of my personal thoughts on the way the situation could be handled. Each company being different due to its history, culture, D&A ambitions, size..., we will all agree that there is no ‘one size fits all’ solution to the problem. That being said, let’s now look at 7 ideas that can help.
For those I have worked with, they all know I am a true believer of the ‘do the right thing first’. And in this context, it is for me building strong foundations with regards to solutions and data architectures, processes, governance, organizations, technology standards (for sustainable and long-term solutions), data cataloging, master and meta data management, just to name the key topics. Basically, when a house is built, we need to make sure our foundation is solid before building the next floors. In D&A, if we don’t do this properly, we will end up patching systems, create expensive interfaces between them, create complex data related processes, and lower the efficiency of our overall D&A ecosystem, while increasing its Total Cost of Ownership.
Let's be clear. ‘Foundations’ doesn’t mean ‘rigidity’. We have to design our solutions and architecture so it can evolve easily. The usage of API and microservices is a mandatory step as a best design practice (when relevant).
One of the motto we need to keep in mind at all time is 'simplicity, pragmatism and common sense'. It is very easy to fall into the trap of creating a D&A ecosystem that is more complex than needed. Having in the teams experienced Enterprise & Solution Architects, CyberSecurity and Data Privacy experts is mandatory to alleviate this risk. These people will engineer and design the ecosystem so it not only looks good from the outside, but most importantly from the inside. What's 'under the hood' is critical in D&A. We cannot stress this enough.
Business value needs to be at the core of everything being designed. A Value Proposition needs to be clearly articulated, understood and agreed, avoiding at all price the 'nice to have'.
As we build our foundations, we need to create in parallel one-off solutions that will help deliver the first business values. And we need to be explicit that we will most probably have to throw away those when the sustainable long-term ecosystem is ready. Let’s be transparent and all agree as a team it will happen that way.
To climb this mountain, huge investments will be made. We are talking about dozens or even hundreds of million dollars. It has to be acknowledged from the beginning and the reasons why explained. What I observed too often is that the top management cannot easily comprehend why such investments need to happen. We will come back later on this ‘education’ topic. These budgets will be used not only for the final ecosystem, but also for the interim one-off solutions that will be either destroyed or re-purposed later on.
To avoid a tunnel effect, resulting in a big bang approach, it is critical to plan for a modular architecture and deliverables. Some could argue that it could lead to a higher cost but based on my experience it is often very expensive to try to deliver too much at the same time due to numerous dependencies in the deliverables.
In addition, delivering more smaller systems and solutions along the way help creating business trust for the future. One of the problems of D&A is that we are dealing very often with intangible assets. What we build is not always easy to perceive, ‘touch’, experience. Showing evidence that our approach and strategy are the right ones is an area we need to work on to ensure on-going buy-in. It is key to the success.
Agreeing on a list of prioritized deliverables needs to happen in concert with the various stakeholders. And during this exercise it has to be agreed by all that not everything will be done right away. Obvious, but not always easy to do!!
With innovation that happened in the past years (and still happening) in Analytics, Data Platform and Cloud Computing, technology is no longer a showstopper or a roadblock. I am not implying that it is easy to do such implementations, but the capabilities that are now offered can answer to most of our D&A needs. The D&A technology landscape is very rich, and it is up to us to pick what fits best for our respective situations.
As far as Cloud Computing, I am sure we all agree that the D&A future resides in the Cloud. There is no way a traditional on-premise data center can respond to the elasticity and reactivity required by D&A solutions. If you have not embarked yet on this journey, you better start now!! The breath and pace of innovation happening there is mind blowing. The 3 key actors (GCP, AWS and Azur) are competing with each other to our entire benefits!!
On a side note, I am a true believer that data lakes and data warehouses are mandatory complementary capabilities for a ‘digital company’ (among other things obviously). Too often I heard that data warehouses were dead when data lakes came to life. Absolutely not. Long live data warehouses!! Similarly, there is a lot of noise regarding the decline of Business Intelligence (BI). Again, and without going too far, BI has a lot of benefits with regards to industrializing reporting and dashboarding. It has to be a key component of our D&A ecosystem helping to reduce operational costs.
Finally, we need to make sure we identify which technologies are candidates for quick renewal and short life cycles, versus those that are the foundational building blocks with long life cycles. Each technology cannot be changed every other year. This would be way too expensive and risky. Here again we are going back to the architecture topic mentioned before.
In 2017 the Economist published a report titled “The world's most valuable resource is no longer oil, but data”. I fully agree with this. Companies need to embrace this principle. To improve productivity, customer satisfaction, research, manufacturing… data needs to be considered as a key company asset. When we do this, we start allocating necessary resources, assess data value, decide on ownership and usage… In other words, we manage our data as a value creation asset for our company.
Another important point to consider is to avoid mixing data ownership with data usage. Because today many companies are still organized by function, the various departments tend to take ownership of the data they use, resulting in duplication of data and data silos creation. This is a common mistake that needs to be solved with the creation of official data ownership, which is obviously tied to the Data Governance topic. Once this is achieved, data owners become fully accountable for their data life cycle, access, privacy... This then translates into internal data providers, serving the other functions.
One of the toughest parts is to determine which organization should be created to take charge of D&A in a company. I am not presumptuous enough to answer to this question in this section since it is a very complex one with dozens of parameters for each company. Though, from my point of view, and because data should be considered as an official company asset, there should be a major component of the D&A organization that reports directly to the CEO, having transverse responsibility across the company. I don’t believe a specific business should own this responsibility. Unfortunately, we very often see a Global Chief Data Office, or Global Data & Analytics team embedded into another function for the pure reason the head of this unit has an experience or a demonstrated appetite for this topic. If it is an intermediate step, maybe. Though, it shouldn’t be the long-term model.
Another question that needs to be answered is the split of responsibilities (if ever) between the D&A Head and the Chief Digital Officer. Again, not a simple question, rather a big one!!
As far as the operating model of the D&A organization, we should foster as much as possible project-oriented organizations bringing flexibility and reactivity. In other words, instead of a static monolithic organization, it is better to assemble teams according to business needs. These teams should be multi-disciplinary (with members from any relevant function) and be in place just for the duration of a project. It is obviously easier to write than to do but we should aim at that model too.
Last but not least on this topic, it is crucial Roles & Responsibilities (R&R) between IT and Business are clearly defined and communicated, during the implementation phase but also for the operating model. This is another key aspect. Too often we see D&A initiatives fail or dramatically slow down because of blur R&R areas among teams and people. To me, it cannot be IT or (exclusive) Business owning D&A in a company. It has to be a joined ownership, leveraging everyone's strengths and potential, and in a true partnership mindset.
Being data driven requires a change of mindset and I believe this is the most complex topic to address. People aspects are always the toughest ones. In the context of D&A, major change management efforts need to take place at all level of the company for the reasons explained earlier. And we should start with the top management. A way to achieve this is to plan for D&A individual educational sessions with ExCom members in order to explain simply what is at stake, the ‘buzz words’, the concepts, what data driven means, the benefits, and the reason for the cost… With all due respect, I have too often seen top managers too embarrassed or shy to express their lack of understanding, resulting in wrong decisions at the end of the day.
This education should cascade down into the company, so everybody understands and take ownership of the topic.

Prayers for Marriages

Prayers for Marriages
When we need to pray for marriages

Our prayer focus will be on marriages.  Singles if you desire marriage I urge you to pray for your marriage as well.  Let these prayers be waiting for you in the future when you get there.

 1) Thanksgiving and praise:  He has kept us alive another month.  Thank God for his faithfulness, and for your marriage.  If you are hoping to get married someday thank him in advance.  He makes all things beautiful in their time. Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.

Psalm 118:1 “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.”

Offer up a Prayer of Thanksgiving to the Lord
*

Father today we bless your name.  You have brought us to the end of this month only by your grace.  You have been merciful and kind, and have not kept a record of our wrongs.  When we have repented you have forgiven us, and thrown those sins into the sea of forgetfulness.  We bless your name because we have a clean slate before you.  Your mercies towards us are new every morning.  Hallelujah!!

Thank you because marriage is your idea and it is a phenomenal idea.  Thank you for my marriage.  I bless you because you have brought us through.  We have faced our challenges but here we are.  Thank you for the love you have given us for each other and the ability to forgive and reconcile quickly so we can keep walking together in unity.

Today we worship you Lord in the beauty of holiness.  You are holy and those who serve you must be holy as you are holy.  You have called us into your presence and you have made us worthy to stand before you.  Thank you because you have clothed us in your own righteousness and now we can worship you in spirit and in truth.  Be lifted up this day mighty God.  Be highly exalted in our lives and in all the earth, for the earth is yours and the fullness thereof.  In Jesus mighty name!

2) Repentance.  Let us repent for our sins both known and unknown.  Repent for sins you have committed against your spouse, for ungodly attitudes, impure thoughts, negative words spoken etc…  Focus in on your marriage and repent of whatever the Spirit of God convicts you of, that times of refreshing may come to your marriage from the presence of the Lord.

Acts 3:19 “Therefore REPENT AND RETURN, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord;”
*

Father today we humble ourselves before you and repent of all our sins, transgressions, and iniquity in Jesus name.  We have sinned in our thoughts, the meditations of our hearts, the words we have spoken and in deed.  Forgive us we pray, sanctify us by the blood of your son Jesus Christ. Then we will be white as snow and can be consecrated to you for holy use.

We repent of sins we have committed against our spouses.  Where we have thought evil of them, and held ungodly attitudes towards them.  Forgive us for pride and hard heartedness that has made forgiveness and reconciliation difficult.  Forgive us for speaking negative words to ourselves about our spouses, to others, and even directly to our spouses.  We have spoken harsh and unkind words and have not demonstrated the love of God.

Forgive our wrong actions towards our spouses.  Forgive where we have been abusive to our spouses – mentally, emotionally, and physically.  Where we have not put their needs ahead of our own.  Where we have thought of ourselves more highly than we ought, and have looked down our noses at our spouses.  Forgive where we have been in the home to be served and not to serve.  Forgive where we have not pulled our own weight and have unduly burdened our spouses.  We need your help to do better Lord.  Help us in Jesus name.

We repent for following after worldly ways of doing marriage and we return to your will and your way.  After all marriage is your idea, you alone have the blueprint for it.  As we return to you and to your way in the area of marriage, we ask that you will release to us times of refreshing so that we can enjoy rest in our marriages in Jesus name.  We thank you and we bless you because we know that you only want the best for us.  We commit to do marriage your way, and we shall indeed enjoy the good of this land in Jesus mighty name.

3) INTERCEDE FOR YOUR MARITAL DESTINY.  Pray that God who holds all things together will uphold your marital destiny in Jesus name.  That your marriage will fulfill its purpose in God, it’s destiny. God is purposeful in all that he does.  He brought you two together for a purpose and you must fulfill that purpose in Jesus name.

Hebrews 1:3a “The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His nature, UPHOLDING ALL THINGS by His powerful word…”
*

Father we know that you do all things with and for a purpose.  So purposeful are you with our lives that all the days appointed for us were written in your book before any of them came to be.  You knew who we would marry, and you have brought us together for a reason.  Even those who feel that they made a mistake, or that they did not consult you before marrying, have the assurance that you redeem all things.  Even that which the devil intended for evil, you turn around for good.  Hallelujah!!

Our marriages are for purpose heavenly Father, and we know that the devil always tries to bring conflict between husband and wife so that we will not fulfill our marital destiny.  Today we declare in the name of Jesus Christ, that no machination of hell will thwart the destiny and plan of God for our marriages.  The gates of hell shall not prevail against us and no weapon fashioned against us will prevail.  We commit our marriages to you and declare that in the name of Jesus Christ they will be upheld by your powerful word!

You have given us power to trample on snakes and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy.  Today we use the authority and power that is in the name of Jesus Christ to trample the enemy of our marriages underfoot.  We render him powerless in Jesus name and declare victory in our marriages in Jesus name.  Our marriages shall stand and they shall accomplish the purpose for which God established them in Jesus name.  Glory to God!

4) Come against the spirit of separation, divorce and remarriage.

Pray against family cycles and patterns of divorce and remarriage, break and release yourself from curses of separation and divorce in Jesus name.  Tear down family / ancestral altars (for your family and your spouse’s family) that are affecting your marital destiny in Jesus name.  Annul those covenants, silence those sacrifices, gifts and offerings that are speaking against your marriage right now.  Shut every door of access that the enemy has been using to mess with your marriage and take away his legal right to mess with you.

Also come against the spirits of strife and offence that cause unwarranted arguments and disagreements.  If you can’t seem to agree on anything these two are at work.  Rebuke also spirits of anger, pride, unforgiveness, and bitterness.  Uproot any root of bitterness that currently exists.

Rebuke the spirit of sexual immorality that manifests in insatiable lust, pornography, masturbation, adultery, flirting, and polygamy.

Malachi 2:16 “For I hate divorce!” says the Lord, the God of Israel. “To divorce your wife is to overwhelm her with cruelty,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. “So guard your heart; do not be unfaithful to your wife.”

*

When the enemy breaks out like a flood the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.  Thank you Lord because the battle standard is raised in Jesus name.  We come against the Spirit of divorce and remarriage in Jesus name and we declare that we shall not fall prey to it.  We cancel family cycles of divorce and remarriage in Jesus name.  Yes! We draw a line and decree so far and no further in Jesus name.  These cycles shall not affect us, and they shall not move down to our children either, in Jesus name.

We tear down every ancestral altar that is speaking against our marriages in Jesus name.  We silence every sacrifice, offering, and gift that is speaking against our marriages in Jesus name, and we annul and free ourselves from ancestral covenants that tied in our marriages and children in Jesus name.  We shut every portal of demonic access of the enemy given by these altars and we remove the legal right of the enemy to afflict our marriages in Jesus name.  We declare it is finished and we send to the pit the spirits that were assigned the work of enforcing the terms of these ungodly covenants in the name of Jesus Christ.

We come against every spirit of offence and strife that has caused disagreement in our homes.  We cast them out of our marriages and our lives in Jesus name.  We will walk in agreement because two cannot walk together unless they agree.  We come against spirits of pride and anger that have hindered forgiveness and reconciliation, and by so doing we have given the devil an advantage over us.  We cast them out of our lives in Jesus name.  Any root of bitterness is uprooted now in Jesus name.  Neither spouse shall live with bitterness against the other.

We come against the operation of the spirit of sexual immorality in our marriages that manifests as insatiable lust, pornography, masturbation, adultery, flirting, homosexuality, and polygamy among other perversions and vices.  We cast out this spirit that leads to infidelity in the name of Jesus Christ.  We decree that our marriages shall be free of the devil’s meddling, and when he tries we will recognize his meddling quickly and deal with it swiftly.  We shall live out our marriages as God intended.

We welcome the Holy Spirit to be a guide on this journey.  We will be satisfied drinking water from our own cisterns.  We will rejoice in the spouse of our youth.  We shall no longer be trapped in demonic patterns and cycles in Jesus name.  It is for freedom that Christ set us free and we are free.  Hallelujah!

A DISABLED KING

A DISABLED KING
once upon a time, There was a King who had ONE Eye and ONE leg..
he was very much loved by his subjects for his kindness towards them.
one day he called a meeting of all the painters in his kingdom asked them to draw a beautiful portrait of him. But none of them could -- how could they paint him beautifully with the defects in one eye and one leg.

Eventually one of them agreed and drew a classic picture of the King.

It was a fantastic picture and surprised everyone..

He painted the King AIMING for a HUNT. Targeting with ONE Eye Closed and One Leg Bent ...

LESSON
Dear Friends, Why can't we all paint pictures like this for others. Hiding their weaknesses and highlighting their strength. why are we always negative on others. God always sees the best moves that we make; even when we have gravely sinned against him, we remain his sons and daughters. How I wish we can emulate the attitude of God.

Purpose Mate

Purpose Mate
You cannot fulfill your life’s purpose when you have the wrong person in your life! Please read carefully again.....

God in His wisdom gives each one of us many blessings and gifts 🎁 we call them TALENTS.
These Talents we have are given to us in order for us to use them to fulfill our purpose. It might be that your talent lies in arts, fashion, medicine, banking, law, teaching, entrepreneurship....

Then you fall in love with a person who loves u but hates your gifts & talents and is absolutely jealous every time they see you win. They are always telling you why you shouldn’t, why you will fail, why it’s a bad idea... and this person is the one person who is closest to u and can affect everything u do with their mood & opinion.

Before you allow anyone that close to u make sure you’ve really seen passed their beautiful face, charming character, wards of cash & focused on their spiritual walk and were they are going. They maybe not for u. U might fall for the physical and financial yet their spiritual journey and purpose are totally fighting everything that God wants for you and from you.

I found someone who came into my life by Gods Grace (it is only God who could have connected us this way),shows me my potential and purpose, literally gives me a reason to live again everyday. I am grateful to God for him.

I believe and I know that God has a lot more in store for me ,for our daughter (and other children coming) and for him. I am sure He hasn’t brought us this far just to forsake us or fail us.
Find your purpose mate, the one who helps you fulfill your purpose on earth and the one who you bring out the best in!

THIRSTY AND LONGING FOR JESUS

THIRSTY AND LONGING FOR JESUS

Zachaes didn't climb the tree because he was short. He climbed it because he was desperate for Jesus. He was a wealthy tax collector. He had status. His ego could have prevented him. But he scorned the shame of it, and this rich man climbed the tree dressed in all his finery.

I'm sure people laughed, but he climbed anyway. Some may have teased him and made bad jokes about his height and the need to climb the tree, but he climbed anyway. Why? He was thirsty, even desperately so, to see Jesus. Jesus responded to his thirst and said, "Today I will eat at your house."

Do you thirst for God? Are desperate for Him? He responds to thirst and gives living water.

Are you one or Zero

If Mathematical numbers were given an opportunity to speak, I think some were going to accuse zero and one. But  why accusing zero and 1???
Any number that is multiplied by zero gives zero.
Zero will bring down numbers to nothing.
There are some people in life who are like number zero.
If you associate with them no matter how valuable you are, they will bring you down to zero.

How about one???
Any number multiplied by one remains unchanged no matter how big it is.
There are some people in life that are like one.
No matter how they touch your life you remain the same.
You don't grow, you don't improve, you remain the same.

What kind of person are you???? and whom do you associate with????
May God separate us from everyone carrying the spirit of Zero (0) and One (1).
May God also help us grow and be greater than 1 so that when we touch others lives, we will add value.

Stay blessed and continue to be a blessing to others.
AMEN

When Love appears

When Love appears
Plan well in unity
Give yourselves a priority
Dream together
Prepare for when it will disappear
But Love never dies it is the person who dies
Only try not to die while alive
Let love live in you
And you will live and love forever

Sunday evening while coming from Nakuru there was a heavy traffic jam in limuru. One driver in a Subaru took a diversion on a rough road. The driver of the shuttle we were in followed and later more than 50 cars followed suit as we thought we were taking a shortcut to escape from the jam.The road was so narrow, rough and one way. After more than 4 kms the driver of the Subaru openned a gate and entered his home. There was no through way and we were all stuck as we were following someone who had taken a shortcut to his destination.U can imagine more than 50 vehicles reversing. We wasted so many hours coz of our inpatience. This was a replication of the mistakes many pple make in life, blindly following others yet their destinations are different. How many times have U followed or admired the lives of others? In matters destiny, patience is the key. When you meet obstacles and challenges face them.Dnt try to come out of them the way others do.Their ways is not your way.Define your destiny and follow it,don't allow others to dictate your way.Dnt follow where there is a footpath, create your own path and follow thru.Dnt marry coz others are marrying, don't buy a car coz others are buying, don't go to clubs coz others are going, don't build coz others are building, don't take your child to a certain school coz others are doing so,don't buy a house on mortgage coz others are doing etc etc and don't just go to church coz others are going.Everyone has his/her destination. Our inpatience made us waste so many hours in a rough road deep in limuru coz we were following someone who was taking a shortcut to his home.If your journey is long, don't take a shortcut. Its only people with a short journey who take shortcuts.Have a shortcut free week and don't take a shortcut to your stomach.Take your time....achieve your best🙏🏽...blessed weekend

God Loves Home Comings

COMING HOME

It’s always exciting to see people Reconnect with family and friends after a time away. Homecomings are great experiences for people who Care about each other.Reunions with those we love are Refreshing.

The Bible tells a story about the joyous homecoming of a young man. (Luke 15)

Jesus talked about a young man who believed that life with his family was too restrictive and limiting for his fun-loving, free spirit. Filled with a strong will, he went to his dad and demanded his share of the family estate. He wanted it all, and he wanted it immediately. His plan was to strike out on his own, make a name for himself, and basically enjoy the life he felt his home had denied him.

The dad, with certain sadness but great wisdom, agreed to his son’s request. The father instinctively knew that this young man needed to face the realities of life for himself.
The “University of Hard Knocks” was the only school that could give him the kind of education he needed.

This young man, money in hand and excitement in his soul, headed away from his father’s house. He felt Liberated. He could do what he wanted to do and be who he wanted to be without dad’s Influence or Pressure from anyone’s Expectations. Dreams soared high in his heart and mind, until he came face to face with something he didn’t Anticipate. He had to face himself. He had to face the sad fact that he didn’t have the Personal Moral Compass and depth of character required for true success. He was missing some important Ingredients on the Inside.

The deficits in this young man’s character soon became evident. His life choices led to outward circumstances that revealed the inward poverty of his Spirit and Soul. This brought him to some Painful, Honest Self-reflection , and to a moment of important Self-awareness when, according to Jesus’ words, this Prodigal son, “came to his Senses.”
What a Wonderful Moment this was!

This internal awakening led him to an important decision. He decided to lay down what was left of his Pride and head home. His experiences had broken him, in a good way. He no longer had Unrealistic expectations about what life was “supposed to be like.”
All he wanted to do now was to go back home and serve. He truly expected nothing. For the first time in his life he realized the significant value of what he had Forfeited by his Stubbornness and Rebellion. So he set his course toward home.

The rest of the story is Incredibly Beautiful and Touching.
As this Wayward son neared home, his dad ran out and met him with open arms of love and grace. He gave him gifts and prepared a big party for him. There were no lectures, no
“I told you so’s,”no condemnation , only Joy!

The son who had wandered, drifted and rejected home was back again.
That’s all that mattered now.

There are many lessons in this story for us. One clear message is this: -

*God loves homecomings!
Just as this father rejoiced over his son’s return,
*God, our Heavenly Father, rejoices when one of His children “come to their senses” and come home to Him!

If you wandered away from God and from your spiritual home,,  but eventually has made a decision to return to Him. He’s lovingly waiting for you. He’ll receive you with forgiveness and grace. Don’t stay away another day. Make this your day to come back to Him. He’s only a prayer away!

Looking for Little Romance

Looking for Little Romance
I want you to have
This beauty by your side
Kiss her lips kiss her everywhere
Careless her take her breath away
Drive her all the way

I want to have
A little romance with you
Just me and you
Let us rock all night tonight
Let us talk to love and do it right

I want to have you
Be one with you and hold you tight
Lick you where it matters most
Until you call my names
In your wishes and dreams

I want you to have
Me in your arms and you in my ass
Touch me and fill me up
Every time I wake up
I want a little romance

Gods Provision

Gods Provision

Joel 2:15-19 King James Version (KJV)

15 Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly:
16 Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.
17 Let the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O Lord, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?
18 Then will the Lord be jealous for his land, and pity his people.
19 Yea, the Lord will answer and say unto his people, Behold, I will send you corn, and wine, and oil, and ye shall be satisfied therewith: and I will no more make you a reproach among the heathen:

The Fable of Porcupine (worth reading)

The Fable of Porcupine (worth reading)
********

It was the coldest winter ever. Many animals died because of the cold.
.
The porcupines, realizing the situation, decided to group together to keep warm.
.
This way they covered & protected themselves; but the quills of each one wounded their closest companions.
.
After a while, they decided to distance themselves one from the other & they began to die, alone & frozen.
.
So they had to make a choice...
.
Either accept the quills of their companions or disappear from the Earth. Wisely, they decided to go back to being together.
.
They learned to live with the little wounds caused by the close relationship with their companions in order to receive the warmth & heat that came from the others. This way they were able to survive.
.
The best couples, best friends, best colleagues are not the one that bring together perfect people, but when each individual learns to live with the imperfections of others & can admire the other person's good qualities.
.
Better to be surrounded by warm pokes than be frozen in solitude.

Stay blessed and United.

The Brokenhearted

Psalm 147:3
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted. A breaking point creates an opening for God to grab hold to a heart that was before walled shut. There's a tendency to put idols in the space that should be reserved only for Him. Healing from a wounded heart often pushes us to search our heart for breaks, tears, and places where we might have missed it. Other times a broken heart is caused at no fault of our own, but by someone who we love. In this case, God trains us to forgive and free our hearts from the bondage of bitterness. Give your wounds to God. He alone has the power to rescue, renew, and restore a heart to fullness of joy.

Where is God

Where is God

Where is my God
Awesome In splendor and doing wonders
I believe he is able to restore me
This is a light thing in the sight of the lord
I choose God over everything
God who rains bread from heaven
Who ordered me to be fruitful and multiply
Who send me meat by the wind
He begun the good work in me
and will bring it to completion
In him I find surplus of prosperity
Where is this God
I know him

Where is the God
Who makes bitter waters sweet
I can hear him speak to me
And he hears when I speak
God who brought me out from slavely
Who has set me free as his son
Who has opened the good treasury and heavens
To give me rain and bless work of my hands
To live in abundance of Grace, joy and peace
He is never late he comes just on time
In him I find security and strength
and his blessing are overtaking  me
I am intimate with him

Where is the caring God
The Lord who comes to me and blesses me
God is greater than all gods
I see him inside me I see him in you
I am Gods peculiar Possessions
Who shows mercy and steadfast Love
Who makes a way and is doing a new thing
In him Everything is works for my good
and for  Glory and honour of his name
He is able to do exceedingly and abundantly
Beyond what I think or Pray
I trust him
I am waiting upon him

How to hear Gods instructions

How to hear Gods instructions

One word from God is enough to change my life completely ....Amen

how to get instructions from God

Psalm 25:4-5 New International Version (NIV)

Show me your ways, Lord,
    teach me your paths.
Guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God my Savior,
and my hope is in you all day long.

1. Gods Light and Leading
“On Thee do I wait all the day.” The special surrender to the Divine guidance in our seasons of prayer must cultivate, and be followed up by, the habitual looking upwards “all the day”. As simple as it is, to one who has eyes, to walk all the day in the light of the sun, so simple and delightful can it become to a soul practiced in waiting on God, to walk all the day in the enjoyment of God’s light and leading.
2. Read the word of God
What is needed to help us to such a life is just one thing: the real knowledge and faith of God as the one only source of wisdom and goodness, as ever ready, and longing much to be to us all that we can possibly require - yes! this is the one thing we need. If we but saw our God in His love, if we but believed that He waits to be gracious, that He waits to be our life and to work all in us, - how this waiting on God would become our highest joy, the natural and spontaneous response of our hearts to His great love and glory!
3. Pray
4, Follow the Leading of Holy Spirit
Do you walk in obedience at your convenience or do you walk in strict obedience to our Father?
Obedience requires sacrifice. It requires us sacrificing what we think is important and what our flesh wants. It sometimes requires us sacrificing the easy way out. It requires us to get rid of our fleshly tendencies. Obedience requires discipline. Discipline to be adamant about following His orders, obeying our prophecies and directions that He has given directly to us.Some of us would say we are obedient to God. We go to church, pray and worship, but this is not the obedience I am talking about. The obedience I am talking about is following His instruction.
5. Enjoy peace of God and Be still
There is much more we can be doing for the kingdom if we will take the time to repent, confess, submit and take a huge step forward in complete obedience. No matter what it feels like or looks like, will you take that step forward with me in complete obedience? Remember our life is not our own; it belongs to the One who sits on the throne.
