THIRSTY AND LONGING FOR JESUS

THIRSTY AND LONGING FOR JESUS

Zachaes didn't climb the tree because he was short. He climbed it because he was desperate for Jesus. He was a wealthy tax collector. He had status. His ego could have prevented him. But he scorned the shame of it, and this rich man climbed the tree dressed in all his finery.

I'm sure people laughed, but he climbed anyway. Some may have teased him and made bad jokes about his height and the need to climb the tree, but he climbed anyway. Why? He was thirsty, even desperately so, to see Jesus. Jesus responded to his thirst and said, "Today I will eat at your house."

Do you thirst for God? Are desperate for Him? He responds to thirst and gives living water.
