self Care

Self-care is as important to your dreams as getting on the work treadmill of making sales calls, being consistent on social media…or mastering your craft. ⠀

⠀
Because what you are doing is not a sprint. ⠀
It’s a marathon. ⠀
⠀
You are not building something for the short-term. You are building for the long haul. You want the work you’re doing now to serve people in the next 20 years.⠀
⠀
So, self-care is not optional, and it is not selfish. ⠀
Self-care is your RESPONSIBILITY to your future. ⠀
⠀
If you’re disciplined enough to learn and implement new techniques, please make sure that you’re also disciplined at self-care.⠀
⠀
Self-care is the practice of being–being present to your family…being present to your friends…taking time out for casual conversations…allowing yourself to do things that just allow your brain to rest or give your body a thank you. ⠀
⠀
I love to lay under my tree and just stretch slowly. I love to just turn my phone on and listen to some easy music and just stretch and thank my body for carrying me through the years.⠀
⠀
Fill your cup up first and serve others from your overflow. You have a long line of things to do and people to serve. You’re going to always have a long line to serve–gladiators and change agents always do. ⠀
⠀
Make sure you stay at the front of your own line so you’re able to.⠀

Fuel Hike

I strongly condemn the government for this fuel increment and last month too. by no a total kshs 15. to an escalated cost of petrol to Kshs 122.8.

I join him in calling for disbandment of EPRA.

And the cartels around it.We need leaders who are care not thieves who keep on taking and taking and making empty promises. The time for action is now.

It’s upon us as citizens to listen to our pain more than we listen to the politician to look at our dilapidated roads and refuse to be diehards

This is about fuel ⛽️ prices that are killing us

Its not about BBI ...It’s about the cost of transport going beyond our salaries, it’s about cost of goods and services   Going up above the price they pay for our services

Enjoyment ; How to love your wife

Does the Bible allow a Christian husband to treat his wife any way he decides is best? Does a Christian wife have to submit to her husband at all times? The apostle Paul has the following to say to Christian husbands and wives regarding their conduct toward each other:

Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands. (Eph. 5:24)

However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband. (Eph. 5:33)

The Greek word for “submit” in Ephesians 5:21–24 is hypotassó, which refers to a wife’s “recognition of an ordered structure” in which her husband is the person to whom she should show appropriate respect “as to the Lord” (BDAG, 1042; Eph. 5:22; see also 1 Pet. 3:1–6). Similarly, the Greek word for “respect” in Ephesians 5:33 is phobētai, which means to have a profound measure of reverence/respect for someone (BDAG, 1061).

While some Christians have wrongly used these Bible verses as an excuse for husbands to mistreat their wives, the verses actually communicate the vast responsibility a husband has to care for his wife and the wife’s duty to honor her husband. In an upcoming article, we will focus on a Christian wife’s responsibilities to her husband. First, here are six things (in no particular order) every Christian husband should give his wife:

1. Love

A Christian husband should love his wife as he does himself and always protect her from all harm (Eph. 5:25–29). He should do his best to “nurture and cherish” his wife in the love of Christ as he would his own flesh and tend to her spiritual, emotional, intellectual, and physical needs (Eph. 5:29; Col. 3:19).

2. Respect

A Christian husband should always respect his wife. When Paul tells wives to submit to their husbands in Ephesians 5:24, he does not mean that wives must endure abuse, neglect, or mistreatment of any kind by their husbands. Rather, Paul is reminding the church that a wife is under the leadership of her husband (Eph. 5:23). A Christian husband must always show his wife honor, both publicly and privately, and protect her dignity and reputation from any and all slander (1 Pet. 3:7).

3. Spiritual Leadership

A Christian husband should provide his wife with spiritual leadership. Even though his wife may be well equipped in biblical doctrine and application and spend a considerable amount of time instructing their children in the faith, a husband must be diligent to oversee and guide the spiritual training of his family (Eph. 6:4).

4. Attention

A Christian husband should be attentive to his wife. He should always do his best to set aside a substantial amount of time to be with his wife, enjoy her company, and seek to understand her better. In doing so, a Christian husband and his wife can grow closer to each other and build a stronger marriage that honors God in all (Prov. 5:18–19; Eph. 5:31).

5. Devotion

A Christian husband should always be faithful to his wife. Even when times are difficult due to financial, emotional, or physical challenges, a husband’s personal happiness must always be subordinated to sacrificially loving his wife “as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her” (Eph. 5:25; see also 1 Cor. 7:1–5). In doing so, he honors not only his wife but also his Lord.

6. Enjoyment

A Christian husband should enjoy his wife. She is a precious gift from God given to comfort, support, encourage, and love her husband (Prov. 18:22; 31:10–12; 1 Pet. 3:1). The more a husband values, cherishes, and nurtures his wife, the more she will reflect God's love as his radiant bride.

Phone n Wife

ANY MAN THAT CAN HANDLE HIS PHONE WELL, CAN HANDLE HIS WIFE BEST.

1)You are always scared to stay away from your phone for just a day. Let your wife also see that you don't want to stay away from her even if it's for a day.

2) You hate to see your phone stay without money (airtime). You should also hate to see your wife stay without money.

3)Because you are so used to your phone, you sometimes prefer it to a new one no matter how sophisticated is the new. Value your wife above any woman out there, no matter how good looking she is.

4) You are always happy when your phone battery is full and strong, and even when it is running down you don't hesitate to charge it. Your wife sometimes becomes physically weak by ensuring everything goes well in the house. Keep her strong emotionally by your kind words and assist with the house chores where necessary; by doing this you would make her full of energy to face what lies ahead.

5) You feel terrible whenever your phone slips from your hand to the ground. Feel same whenever anything hurts your wife

6) Whenever you are using your phone to make a serious call, you always want to stay away from distractions. Treat your wife the same way when discussing serious issues

7) Your phone contains so much inside; your contacts, codes, memorable pictures etc, hence the value you place on it. Your wife has some treasures hidden in her, please value her.

Sometimes when the outer casing of your phone fades, you feel embarrass to hold it in public. Always ensure your wife looks good wherever she goes, remember, she is said to be the glory of the man.

9) Whenever your phone has a problem, you become unavailable to your callers. Let your wife's problems make you unavailable to anything needing your attention, until she is alright.

10) You feel uncomfortable when your phone mouthpiece is having a problem. Let it also disturb you when your wife couldn't get what you are saying, then look for a better way to fix it until she can clearly understand what you are saying. The same applies to your earpiece; make sure you always remove anything that will block your ears from hearing and listening to her.

11) Like you use your phone to browse the internet, interact with friends from different social networks. Let your wife also become a platform for your social interaction with family and friends. Also there are so many resources in your wife that you never knew of, just be humble enough and browse through, you'll be surprise that your wife knows so much, it's just like your phone, how you don't know everything it can do.

MARRIAGE IS ABOUT SERVICE

 MARRIAGE IS ABOUT SERVICE

We are called to serve each other. I have come to realise that marriage is not a game of competition but of cooperation and service. You must be willing to put away selfishness and work towards the benefits and good of your partner. God expects you to be a support system to your partner through serving. Service is not about superiority or age but of God. It is your heart of service that reveals your maturity. All that is required is a shift in your mindset and modification of your attitude.
For your marriage to be thriving and successful, you must make yourself available to serve your partner. This means you have to look out for ways to help each

TYPES OF HUSBANDS : Panadol, Dry or Caring Husbands

 YPES OF HUSBANDS:

1: BACHELOR HUSBAND
Does things on his own without consulting wife. Hangs out a lot with friends more than wife. Not serious about marriage life.
2: ACIDIC HUSBAND.
Is always boiling like acid and always angry violent, moody, dominating and very dangerous.
3: SLAVE HUSBAND*l
Wants to be treated like a King but treats Wife like a Slave. Likes wife to perform old tradition respect and hates being called by their first name.
4: GENERAL HUSBAND
Husband for every woman. loves and cares for girlfriends more than his wife. Likes giving money to girlfriends and has more female friends.
5: DRY HUSBAND
Very moody and stingy, doesn't consider wife's interest, doesn't make the relationship enjoyable. Has no sense of humor.

Run for MP 2022

To my friends joining elective politics in 2022, particularly the MP race. Kindly, ensure you have the following at the earliest, as in, even today:

√A robust social media team of utmost 3 people (Including graphic designer, text editor: can be outsourced)
√A very good camera/smartphone(s).
√A media liaison officer to network you with local radios at the shortest notice & push your views in every news item especially at night and early morning (6 am-8.00 am)
√ An honest think tank, to direct your points and dovetail them to local issues/ challenges.
√Opinion shapers/Influencers in almost every village. Include male elders past 60 years.
√Chief MOBILIZER(Gets the crowds/gauges the public mood before visit)
√RESOURCE mobilizer
√A local research assistant( to keep you thoroughly informed on the current affairs).
√A personal assistant with razor-sharp interpersonal relation skills.
√An office/nerve centre.
√A women wing/caucus in your secretariat. Women are very HONEST, DETERMINED, COMMITTED and they always GIVE what they PROMISE. They are good at keeping promises, including when they promise to give you...
√ At least a car OR 3 motorbikes on standby OR both.
NB:
√ Social media doesn't have to be a propaganda mill or a vituperative factory ran by militia or mud-slingers. Nope. Updating people on your programs and missions is enough. Proliferation of smartphones nearly in every home, has changed news access, making every information available in real-time.
√ Focus on the small churches, where if you give Sadaka of Ksh 500/1000, it makes a difference. Unlike the big ones.
√. Stay away from( reject the temptation of) sleeping around with people's wives. It's cobra-effect is unmitigatable especially in the village.
√ Carry at least 10K, in 50 shilling notes every time you are around the villages. Because problems there are small, yet very critical. They must be solved at random. Like mafuta, sugar, matchbox, Panadol, a book etc. That 100 maybe your phone credit, but to ruralitarians, it means a lot.
√Be active in funerals (makes you a friend in need).
√Be active in community projects, at least the ID project is easy/cheap.
This thing is not cheap. You MUST be fully PREPARED.
Thank me later!

Fit healthy relationship

Today I want to draw from my experience from working with women in fitness and health. I enjoy helping people get fit, and I have realized that there are many points of convergence between fitness and relationships.
1. You reap what you sow. In fitness I have had ladies telling me "hata sikulangi", lakini kwa ground she never stops eating until she sees "made in china" at the bottom of her plate.
In marriages I hear folks desiring amazing relationships, but they feed on everything that assures them of terrible relationships.
If you spend your time listening to Maina in the morning and other characters that daily harp about how marriages dont work....how do you expect to have an awesome marriage?
Are you sowing positive seeds in your mind about your relationship? You reap what you sow.
2. You can have excuses or results, but you cannot have both.
In fitness I have heard all sorts of excuses, people blame everything from their genes to being busy. "Oh, in our family we have heavy bones"......kumbe it's just the plate that is heavy. If the contents of your plate are heavier than your dumbbells, there is a problem. In marriage I hear the same.....Oh, I don't have money to take her out ( while you comfortably bet every weekend and have enough to imbibe with the boys).
"Oh, am just not the romantic type".......so you are not the romantic type yet you always want to visit Netherlands.....Ahem.
Why don't you have one hour every week where just the 2 of you catch up and plan together? (Did an excuse just pop in your mind?)
3. It takes work and crazy commitment to see results in fitness, and relationships are no different. I know how tough my journey getting into shape after the babies was. It did not just happen by chance......I worked at it.
Great marriages are not the results of being highly compatible.......no, it takes intentionality and commitment to make things work.
Are you committed to seeing your relationship Thrive or are you only interested when there is no effort required. Do you want results without Process?.....that is classic witchcraft.
4. In fitness, Consistency is the name of the game. So it is in marriage.
If you have the consistency of a Kenyan politician, your relationship will not thrive.
What do you do daily to make your marriage better?
What consistent habits do you have that build your marriage?
Success is camouflaged in your daily habits.
I don't believe in "cheat days" in fitness.....and you definitely cannot Cheat in your relationship and expect it to thrive. Faithfulness must be your consistent default.
5. Last, and maybe the most important.....there are No shortcuts in this thing.
In fitness I see people trying detox, teatox.....and even guava leaves.....in the hope of suddenly getting a flat belly. Doesn't work, never will. It takes consistent effort over TIME to get results.
Marriages are no different. There is no one thing you will do that will suddenly make your communication better. You have to work at it together, over time, patiently.....no shortcuts.
No one can lay hands on you and pray you out of a journey of character change that is required to be a great husband or wife.
You have to work at it, yourself.
You cannot outsource your Fitness, Neither can you Outsource your marital responsibility.
No one can do a Push up for you, No one can marinate your partner for you!
Have a Fit healthy relationship!

A visit by Jesus

 Thank you Jesus for friday

MAD MAN IN CHURCH (When all is said and done, your relationship with Jesus is what matters)

A minister passing through his church in the middle of the day, decided to pause by the altar and see who had come to pray.

Just then the back door opened, a man came down the aisle.

The minister frowned as he saw the man hadn't shaved in a while.

His shirt was kinda shabby and his coat was worn and frayed.

The man knelt, he bowed his head, then rose and walked away.

In the days that followed, each noon time came this chap,

Each time he knelt just for a moment, a lunch pail in his lap.

Well, the minister's suspicions grew, with robbery a main fear,

He decided to stop the man and ask him, "What are you doing here?"

The old man said, he worked down the road. Lunch was half an hour.

Lunchtime was his prayer time, for finding strength and power.

 "I stay only moments, see, because the factory is so far away;

As I kneel here talking to the Lord, this is kinda what I say:

"I JUST CAME AGAIN TO TELL YOU, LORD, HOW HAPPY I'VE BEEN, SINCE WE FOUND EACH OTHER'S FRIENDSHIP AND YOU TOOK AWAY MY SIN.

DON'T KNOW MUCH OF HOW TO PRAY, BUT I THINK ABOUT YOU EVERYDAY. SO, JESUS, THIS IS JIM CHECKING IN TODAY."

The minister feeling foolish, told Jim, that was fine.

He told the man he was welcome to come and pray just anytime.

Time to go, Jim smiled, said "Thanks." He hurried to the door.

The minister knelt at the altar, he'd never done it before.

His cold heart melted, warmed with love, and met with Jesus there.

As the tears flowed, in his heart, he repeated old Jim's prayer:

"I JUST CAME AGAIN TO TELL YOU, LORD, HOW HAPPY I'VE BEEN, SINCE WE FOUND EACH OTHER'S FRIENDSHIP AND YOU TOOK AWAY MY SIN.

I DON'T KNOW MUCH OF HOW TO PRAY, BUT I THINK ABOUT YOU EVERYDAY. SO, JESUS, THIS IS ME CHECKING IN TODAY."

Past noon one day, the minister noticed that old Jim hadn't come.

As more days passed without Jim, he began to worry some.

At the factory, he asked about him, learning he was ill.

The hospital staff was worried, but he'd given them a thrill.

The week that Jim was with them, brought changes in the ward.

His smiles, a joy contagious. Changed people, were his reward.

The head nurse couldn't understand why Jim was so glad, when no flowers, calls or cards came, not a visitor he had.

The minister stayed by his bed, he voiced the nurse's concern:

No friends came to show they cared. He had nowhere to turn.

Looking surprised, old Jim spoke up and with a winsome smile; "the nurse is wrong, she couldn't know, that in here all the while everyday at noon He's here, a dear friend of mine, you see, He sits right down, takes my hand, leans over and says to me:

"I JUST CAME AGAIN TO TELL YOU, JIM, HOW HAPPY I HAVE BEEN, SINCE WE FOUND THIS FRIENDSHIP, AND I TOOK AWAY YOUR SIN.

ALWAYS LOVE TO HEAR YOU PRAY, I THINK ABOUT YOU EACHDAY,

AND SO JIM, THIS IS JESUS CHECKING IN TODAY."

New Normal for Kenyan Women

in the new normal brought about by Covid-19 pandemic Kenyan women need their voice to be heard and the women agenda to be implemented not just empty promises as has been before, j its time for action and real solutions

Gender agenda on the continent

Gender agenda on the continent

We ought to continue advancing the gender agenda on the continent and in our countries. Is Kenya is facing an economic crisis in post Covid 19pandemic, the economic status of women is crsuhed already. Thus, women Economic Empowerment is one of the top needs to push the women agenda forward.

25 years of Trade Manipulation by UK

25 years of Trade Manipulation by UK

The monster Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) between Kenya and United Kingdom is an injury to the Kenyan economy that is already on its knees. How many jobs do we lose by allowing duty free goods in our country? How many Kenyan firms are going to close down? What trade agreement does a colony freely negotiate with its former colonizer? The level of commercial development in UK cannot be compared to Kenya which is struggling to feed and treats its citizens with borrowed money. United Kingdom should allow our raw materials to enter their market duty free since our finished products no not meet their market highly protected standards.

How many jobs are we going to create if we keep allowing duty free goods in our country? What trade agreement does a country that was colonized by UK negotiate with its former master. Considering the difference in economic progress between Kenya and UK the trade agreement is supposed to be the other way. UK should allow our raw materials such as coffee, tea, fruits & flowers to enter their market duty free. Kenya’s trade agreement with UK will allow British firms to ship in goods duty-free for 25 years. The post-Brexit trade agreement with the UK will open the window for British companies to flood the local market with finished and unfinished goods.

In an attempt to protect Kenyan farmers and factories the agreements states that the duty-free deal excludes agricultural and industrial products at the expiry of a seven-year moratorium. Kenya parliament has been requested to rectify Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) signed between Kenya and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (UK). The request by the Ministry of Industrialisation, Trade and Enterprise Development will give life to the agreement that is threatening the life of Kenyan firms, increasing the already high numbers of unemployment and killing the few firms that have survived the Covid-19 pandemic.

Sand or Rock? A Tale of Two Builders

 Sand or Rock?

A Tale of Two Builders

Matthew 7:24‭, ‬26 NKJV

“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock:

“But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand:

Back in the day when I was in collage, a new building was being put up right across the road. I remember the many days we would stand at the footbridge that allowed us to look into the fenced area where the building was being put up and we would wonder what kind of building it would be because the foundation went deep into the rock below. The building is the current Times towers in Nairobi.

One thing that comes out clearly in this story is the fact that we have a choice of two foundations when it comes to building our house (Our Life) the rock or the sand.

Building on the sand is a quick work that many people would go for today. We love quick and instant things, we do not like discipline and building character.

Building on the sand is taking the easy way out, things look good until a storm comes  and then the lack of character and roots is exposed.

To build on the rock is hard work and it takes time. It is building according to the direction and leading of God, its like Noah building the ark. It took time, lots of time and a lot of hard work and dedication something that many people are not willing to do today because we love shortcuts.

Joshua 1:8 NKJV

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you[a] shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

That is what building on the right foundation, the rock is all about. It is reading the word, speaking the word, meditating on the word days and night, and doing what the word tells you to do.

Remember, when the storm comes and come it will, the foundation that we have built on is the principal thing!

Reflections

What foundation are you building on, the sand or the rock?

What are some of the challenges you have experienced as you endevour to build on the rock?
