When we Pray

Identity and Validation Luke 3:21‭-‬22 NIV When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as he was praying, heaven was opened and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.” One thing that is very evident about Jesus his ministry and purpose here on earth, is that it was driven by prayer. When Jesus prayed, things happened and there are lots of lessons for us to learn when we take a close look at his prayer life. The first time we hear about Jesus praying in the book of Luke is when he was baptized by the John the Baptist and something supernatural happened. The bible says that the heavens were opened and the Holy Spirit descended on him like a dove. The prayers of Jesus tapped into the supernatural and opened a door for the Holy Spirit to descend on Him. Reminds me of the book of Acts when they were all in one place in one accord and in prayer and the Holy Spirit fell on them in the form of tongues of fire. Prayer does the same for us today if engage in it with the right motive and attitude of heart, it becomes the bridge between the natural and supernatural world. The other supernatural thing that happened is that Gods audible voice was heard from heaven and what God said is a huge revelation to us.
