ILO International Labour organization

What is the ILO?
This is an International Labour Organization which was created in 1919 of the treaty of Versailles which emerged the League of Nations. In 1946 after the demise of the League of Nations, the ILO became the first specialized agency associated the Limited Nations which is a Tripartite agency that brings together Government, Employers  and Workers' with the  view of promoting decent work in the World.
When was the ILO created?
the ILO was founded in the year 1919
What is the mandate of the ILO?
ILO seeks the promotion of Social Justice, Internationally recognized human and labour rights and decent work for all. This implies that the ILO is an agency which fights for human rights and ensures the fair treatment of both Women and Men.
ILO's key direction which is Decent Work:
Creates greater opportunities for Women and Men to secure decent employment and income.
Promotes and realize International Labour Standards, fundamental principles and rights at work. this means that the ILO makes sure that there are no infringements of rights.
Extend coverage and effectiveness for social protection for all. This means policies and programmes are designed to reduce poverty and vulnerability for all.
Strengthen tripartism and socal dialogue. Implying that, ILO brings together the Government, Employers and Workers to negotiate and reach on a consensus.
What are the means of action of the ILO?

International Labour Office.
What is ACTRAV?
The Bureau for Workers' Activities is the main link between the International Labour Office and the world of work through its key Stakeholders: the Trade Union Movement.
disseminates policies and programmes of the ILO and its technical units to Trade Unions.
Reflects interest of Trade Unions in programs and actions of the ILO.
Supports Workers' representatives in ILO's decision making bodies.
Educate and train Trade Union Leaders/activists and staff. An obvious example is this Young Women Leadership Training being organized by ACTRAV.

They are:

a. Tripartism
Tripartism is a system where governments, employers and employees come together on common ground to find solutions for labor and social policies. As stated in the Workers' Rights in a Global Economy: Recap of Chapter 1 , "A function tripartism requires as a minimum; independent workers and employers organisation that has authority with representation of over a significant part of the workforce and the enterprises, democratic governments that gurantee the right to organise and bargain collectively with providing a conducive environment for genuine substantive dialogue, and a willingness of all sides to accept the demands and very existence of the counterparts as legitimate".
b. Means of action of the ILO
Since its establishment in 1919, ILO works on a tripartite system that encourages the promotion of opportunities for decent and productive work for both women and men, in alightment with freedom, equality, security and human dignity. With this in mind, ILO has means of action which acts as a guideline to achieve end results that benefit all the three parties (governments, workers and employers).
Firstly, there is a standard setting of activities where the elaboration and adoption takes place, with supervision of member states application of International Labor Standards. With this comes Technical Cooperation. Here, promotion of the objectives are established by ILS, whilst undertaking a range of research activities and the publishing of findings through books, manuals and journals etc.
c. ILO Core Conventions
The subjects which are covered by the Core conventions are;
- Feedom of association, collective bargaining and industrial relations
- Elimination of Child Labour
- Forced Labour
- Anti- discrimination
- Equality of opportunity and treatment
There are differences that arises in regards to their implementation for women and men. For years, gender equality has been a challenge that is progressive but at a slow rate. For example, there are more awareness programmes and training  given to men when compared to women. However, this is changing as women are encouraged to be more active not only at workplaces but also in union movements.
d. Normlex Database Analysis
Fiji, as named by its government of the day, as democratic is so "far fetched". Out of the 38 conventions rarified by Fiji,  of which 29 are in force, I have identified at least  two (2) ILO conventions that has not been ratified;
1. CO87: Freedom of Association and Protection of the Right to Organise Convention,1948 (No.87)
2. CO98: Right to Organise and Collective Bargaining Convention, 1949 (No.98)
As a unionist, recent events of the massive layoff of Water Authority of Fiji [WAF] employees, saw that CO87 and CO98 was not being honoured by both the Government and Employer. In September 2018, WAF and the representative of workers, National Union of Workers (NUW) came into a lengthy collective bargaining meetings and successfully came into an agreement and signed the Collective Agreement (CA) where provisions could be changed in the year 2021. However, despite this, the employer breached the CA by giving out Individual Contracts. The union, NUW, in turn, informed the employer to refrain from such unlawful practise as there is a CA already in place. In February 2019, Offer Letters were given out to workers with their contract term stated 'As per CA'. In the CA, there is a classification of workers who are either permanent ( worker who has been working with the authority continuously with more than 1 year) and temporary (worked with the authority within 6 months). Despite this, the employer went ahead and laid off workers on the 30th of April 2019, stating that their contract term has expired. On the 1st of May, majority of the workers turned up to work, only to be locked out. This staged a protest by all the workers, but, this was cut short by Fiji Police force who came in and stated that workers were in breach of the Public Order Act (Cap20) of Fiji. Anyone seen to be in breach of this were arrested. This resulted in the unlawful arrest of Mr Felix Anthony (General Secretary)  from a tripartite meeting with the Government representatives, employer and ILO officials, and 29 members of union members and 1 union worker, who were arrested from the Fiji Trade Union Congress private property.
For the past 6 days, police officers has been circulating the Fiji Trade Union Congress office intimidating workers with their presence. This breaches the CO87 Article 3 (2) which states that ' The public authorities shall refrain from any interference which would restrict this right or impede exercise thereof'.
(Ref: Personal Experience and Observation)
I think Fiji has not ratified both the above mentioned Convention as the government leaders in itself needs to be changed. Since the current Fiji government lead the 2006 Fiji Coup, there has been little freedom of association mostly for trade union movements. There is also some laws in place, like the ' Public Order Act' that requires premits for approval of organise and association. Fiji Trades Union Congress has made multiple applications for a Nationwide March only to be rejected by either the Fiji Police or Fiji Road Authority, with one of their latest reason that it is a handful for both the authorities to handle such an event.

It is an Obligation; Thanks Giving Poem

It is an Obligation
God has blessed me
God has favoured me
I utter his praise
I exalt his name
I proclaim before all people
  The good deeds of God
I will never tire of giving
 Him thanks

I will practice alms giving
I publish the works of our God
I will not tire of doing what is good
I will reveal in a worthy way
  The words of God
I will bless God forever
To the glory of God

I am restored, restructured and rebuilt
I am revived and restructured
In the will of God
The Only one I will bless is God

I thank my God
  Who performed the wonders
Blessed be God
  Who lives forever and ever
His reigns endures forever

I declare his praise before nations
He has shown me his greatness
He has shown me his power
He is our Lord
He is our God
He is our father
He is God forever and ever
I return to him with
All of my heart
All of my soul
All of my mind

Loudly I give him thanks
My soul rejoices in The King of heaven
My soul blesses the Lord Great King
Be exalted God above the heaven
God let your Glory be all over earth

I will remember God in sincerity of heart
And I will dwell in security
I will serve God in sincerity
And do what is pleasing to him
I will keep God in mind
And bless his name always

single mother

Yes, She is a single mother, not because she was promiscuous, not because she had many men diving in her honey pot, not because she was a husband snatcher, not because she was immoral, not because she was stupid, not because she was a good time girl, ….
But because she trusted the wrong man with her heart, she gave herself to the wrong man, the man took advantage of her simple naïve and pure love, the man promised her heaven but led her the hell way, the man took her heart and instead of keeping it safe shattered it in the rocks of his own ego and irresponsibility/
She is a single mother because a coward took off as soon as he led her the motherhood way but she was brave enough to go the way alone, endure ridicule and hatred alone, get misjudged alone, etc. She endured all emotions of rejection alone, she endured all difficulties of pregnancy alone, she embraced motherhood alone and emerged as a strong woman all alone.
She deserves respect and congratulations for enduring to the end all alone as the dead beat went on with life as if she does not exist. She protected her child all alone and endured all innocent questions that would stab her heart alone, “Mummy, where is my dad?”. Sometimes she cries, sometimes she feels wretched, she feels weak and lost but she looks at her child and remembers she must remain strong, composed, courageous and focused since that child has no one else to look up to except her mother.
Big up to all single mothers who stood up strong and brave when the coward took off, press on with life. You are a great woman.

Just Get Married _For all Young Women

DELAY IN MARRIAGE.
Some girls mentality is very low just like low battery... You will hear them saying "I don't want to marry yet am still young"... "I don't even want to hear anything about marriage now am still enjoying my life"...
Girls at the age of 18-24 always attracts serious men who is fully ready to get married but at this age most of our girls never wish to hear anything about marriage... You will hear them saying "who marriage eeep, who care about marriage"..... But this girls will be having serious sex relationship with small boys of their age... I mean serious sex relationship because at this age, they always have high rate of boys, guys and men coming for them but they will prefer to chose those boys rather than the men.. They are still young to marry but they're not young to have sex with boys... If u even ask them why are you small girl having sex relationship like this... You will hear her asking you back "Who is small girl? Do u even know what I know? Are u expecting me not to be having sex at this my age? Do u want to kill me? And beside, what is your own problem with my own life? Abeg, pack well".
At the age of 25-27, parent will start asking them how far? Don't u have any one yet? Are u not planning to get married? Your mate are getting married? Or don't you know how old you are?... But mind you, parent only seems outside of their daughter not knowing that inside is finished.... With all this questions by her own parent she will now be thinking and asking her self some questions like... "My mate are getting married? Does it mean am old enough to marry? Hmmm but how should I go about it those my boyfriends are not a serious type... They're not even ready to marry yet.. Well, God knows the best I believe in God"... My sister, Did u just mention God?... Hmm!!!
At the age of 27-30... They will now start looking for men to marry not boys to have sex again... They will start looking for serious relationship that will lead to marriage... But the funniest this is that, at this age of 30 no men will be asking their hand in marriage... Though they will see men but those men will only want date from them not marriage... Then u will see them forcing their self to marry a man who didn't like to marry them... No single man at the age of 30-35 will like to marry a lady of 30-35 too instead they will be looking for girls of 20-25 to marry and that is why you will see some men going back to their village to find young girl to marry when they seems that those young girls in the city are not serious about marriage and those that serious too old for them.
At the age of 30-35, if you ask her why are u not marry yet by this your age it getting too late... You will hear her asking you some silly questions like... "Are you God? Or do you want to marry me? Single at 30 or 35 it's a crime? Did I see who will marry me I didn't marry him? God knows the best pls".
At this age of 30-35 they will start going to Church like never before... They will now be a fake serious type.. Her name will now change from Lizy for sure to Sis in Christ... At this age if u ask her for dating you will hear her saying "My brother, am not like them... Am looking for husband not dating if truly u love me go and see my parent for marriage I can't do anything without asking for my parent hands... But when she was 18-24 yrs she was doing everything without her parent hands.
But ladies, do you even know that no man want old version again? Everybody is looking for latest version. U don't expect a young man of 30yrs to marry you of 30yrs as his house wife... Men that will be interested to marry you will be men of 40 plus and mind you, those men have married with kids except you wanna be second or third wife and I know that naija lady will not want to be second or third wife.
Everything in life has it own season and time... No lady that is looking for husband now that didn't see who want to marry her when she was 18-24 yrs but by then, they're not serious because they're not looking for husband but they're looking for sex. Let's assuming u started having sex at the age of 16-20... Now you're 30yrs old... My sister can you count how many time u had sex? Well, let's 4get about that because I know u won't like that part at all.
But let me tell you, everything is not about prayer. God who created you has made a plan for you but when you by yourself changed the plan or miss the road you will now be shouting God where are you... When God is shouting my daughter where are u.. You're there doing Shakara, enjoying your life and talking men for granted.
Why do we have high rate of single mothers and single ladies nowadays? Does it mean no men again? You will see that the old are there not getting married why the young ones are getting married. You as a orderly or senior sister never marry your younger or junior sisters are getting married.... You will now be asking God some stupid questions like "God why me? I mine not your daughter again? Do you want me to kill myself before u know what to do?"... After asking God those questions you will not go to your parent and be asking them some nonsense questions like "Mum what are u doing with my situation? Don't u want me to get married? Mum you need to do something ooh because I will commit suicide ooh."..... But why are u telling your mum before u commit the suicide? When you're committing sex and rejecting men did u tell your mum then? My sister, there is a time for everything... Don't let your time pass over you before you will start running after it.
They says grap your copy before it too late... Don't be too selective... Do not follow handsome... Nobody knows tomorrow,,, poor man today may be rich man tomorrow... I pray that God will by his mercy provide a better man (husband) for you ... Amen

A man comes into a woman's life for one of these five reasons.

A man comes into a woman's life for one of these five reasons.

1. FOR LONG TERM LOVE
This man will see a wife in you and he will want to have all of you for life. He will first build a foundation of friendship with you but he will make it clear he is thinking marriage.
He will study you, especially the inner you while other men focus largely on your physical beauty. He will want to know your dreams, vision, past, childhood, family, fears and scars. He will seek to understand you. He will water you like Christ waters the Church. He will not be so quick to say "I love you" because he knows the weight of those words. He will respect you.
He will not entertain other women and if you are uncomfortable about any woman or anything he does, he will not justify things but he will listen and do things to make you secure. He will fall in love with you every day and grow that love daily.
He will mark his territory and ask you to be his woman. He will love you online and offline because he is proud of loving you. He will not only introduce you to his family and friends but he will want you to build a good relationship with them.
He will love to go out with you in public where everyone can see he has an amazing Queen. He will be protective of you and will articulate a vision of a future with you and take steps to make it come true. You will see effort in him even when he earns little or less than you. He will be accountable and will give you the authority to sharpen him. You will see that he needs you. He will make you feel secure and will talk to you anytime of the day. He will not play games.
You will have no doubt that he loves you. His love will be a fact, not an assumption.

2. FOR MENTORSHIP
This man comes into your life with an assignment to build you. He will demand nothing from you but your growth. He will not spend much time talking with you but when he does, he will uplift you, rebuke you with love, challenge you and correct you. In fact, you will run to him for advice often and he will speak life and wisdom into you then give you space till the next time you need his counsel or he is checking up on you.
He is a ally to your destiny. He is an authority figure; your mentor, your counsellor, your pastor or your professional senior. The few but powerful words he speaks will have a great impact in your life and future. You will want to bless him and pray for him because of how much he influences you
3. FOR FRIENDSHIP
This could be a man who is single, taken or married but wants nothing romantic with you. He just wants pure friendship.
He looks out for you, will give you a heads up on opportunities. Will correct you, make jokes with you, remember your birthdays, be happy for you when you find love, support you and cheer you on.
He will be like a brother from another mother. There will be boundaries between you two, you may not talk everyday but he wants the best for you. Sometimes this friendship is seasonal, a time comes when you two don't talk that much but it is not like you are enemies

4.  FOR SEX
This man will be sexual from the get go. He will ask for photos and videos as he progresses into nudes. He will be quick to say "I love you" to make the woman bring down her walls. He will brag about the size of his penis and tell you how great he is at licking a woman. He does this to make you aroused and curious.
His focus will be on her physical features. He will not commit to a relationship but even if he does, he will want it to remain private. He will flirt with other women, liking women's photos and commenting suggestively seeing no wrong in that.
He will often remember you at night or over the weekends and almost all dates will be at his house or yours or if married/taken, in a hotel. After the sex, he will not be as enthusiastic about speaking with you until he gets horny again.
If you deny him sex, he will question whether you love him, call you a prostitute, label you "A holy Mary", mock you about refusing to have sex yet you are a single mother, emotionally arm twist you by saying that with your standards you will never get a husband or he will get another woman to make you feel jealous

5. FOR MONEY
This man will paint for you big dreams but never seems to have the money. He will be secretive. You might not know where he stays or what he does but he will want to know a lot about you especially where you live, where you work, how much you earn and who are your parents.
He will tend to be good at Bible verses and ministry ideas. He will remember you most when he needs money. He will be asking for money incrementally, he starts with a small amount as he increases.
He will add no value to your life other than praising how good you look and he will ask to have sex with you. The sex is a bait to trap you because he knows once you have sex with him you will be emotionally, mentally, spiritually connected to him making it easy for you to give him your money.
This man is extra cosy with women online liking and commenting and in boxing them. Be sure you are not the only one he is sexing and getting money from you

Joyful Farmer & the King

Joyful Farmer & the King.

Once upon a time, there lived a King who, despite his luxurious lifestyle, was neither happy nor content.

One day, the King came upon a farmer who was singing happily while he worked. This fascinated the King; why was he, the Ruler of the Land, unhappy and gloomy, while a lowly farmer had so much joy.

The King asked the farmer, ‘Why are you so happy?’

The farmer replied, ‘Your Majesty, I am nothing but a farmer, but my family and I don’t need too much – just a roof over our heads and warm food to fill our tummies.’

The king was not satisfied with that reply. Later in the day, he sought the advice of his most trusted advisor. After hearing the King’s woes and the farmer’s story, the advisor said, ‘Your Majesty, I believe that the farmer Has not been made part of The 99 Company.’

‘The 99 Company? And what exactly is that?’ the King inquired.

The advisor replied, ’Your Majesty, to truly know what The 99 Company is, place 99 Gold coins in a bag and leave it at this servant’s doorstep.’

When the servant saw the bag, he took it into his house. When he opened the bag, he let out a great shout of joy… So many gold coins!

He began to count them. After several counts, he was at last convinced that there were 99 coins. He wondered, ‘What could’ve happened to that last gold coin? Surely, no one would leave 99 coins!’

He looked everywhere he could, but that final coin was elusive. Finally, exhausted he decided that he was going to have to work harder than ever to earn that gold coin and complete his collection.

From that day, the servant’s life was changed. He was overworked, horribly grumpy, and castigated his family for not helping him make that 100th gold coin. He stopped singing while he worked.

Witnessing this drastic transformation, the King was puzzled. When he sought his advisor’s help, the advisor said, ‘Your Majesty, the servant has now officially joined The 99 Company.’

He continued, ‘The 99 Company is a name given to those people who have enough to be happy but are never contented, because they’re always yearning and Striving for that extra 1, saying to themselves: ‘Let me get that one final thing and then I will be happy for life.’ We can be happy, even with very little in our lives, but the minute we’re given something bigger and better, we want even more! We lose our sleep, our happiness, we hurt the people around us; all these as a price for our growing needs and desires.

Steps to Emotional Healing:

Steps to Emotional Healing:
Offences can NEVER be avoided for as long as we are on this earth, but it is possible to work on ourselves such that we heal and guard our hearts from woundedness.
Psalms 34: 18 (ISV) “The Lord is close to the broken-hearted, and he delivers those whose spirit has been crushed”
God is still there with us even when we are wounded. He never leaves nor forsakes us. It is at this time when you realise you are wounded, that you need to draw closer to Him for comfort, edification and strengthening.
Healing is a deliberate process, requiring your full participation and engagement. There are some basic steps to this:

1. Analyse, analyse, analyse yourself. Have a meeting with yourself and acknowledge what is bothering you. Try as far as possible to find the root of the root. This is the most difficult part of the exercise of healing and in itself, is a very big step towards overall emotional healing. It doesn’t matter how difficult it is or how intense the experience may be, try as much as possible to thoroughly analyse yourself.

2. Pray for yourself. If say, you have found that you are easily angered and it is because of something that your father said to you eg “I don’t know how you are my child”…. Find the truth in scripture eg Jeremiah 1: 5 “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet to the nations”. As you pray you decree this scripture over yourself and then pray for God to give you revelation of who you are in Him. Another thing about prayer is, the more time you spend speaking and communing with God, the more His attributes rub off on you. His love, peace, joy, everything about Him, you will begin to automatically experience, including HIS POWER to break yokes of emotional bondage.

3. Environment - Keep yourself in the best environment for your healing. For example if your conversations have been negative in nature, deliberately speak life. Always give others the benefit of the doubt. Whatever you feed yourself on, will become your world. Feed on things which have life, and life becomes your reality. Watch what you think on, listen to and speak about. Align everything.

4. Get help – no man is an island. It will always help to have someone to speak to, share and fellowship with.  There is power in agreement with one another when it comes to healing.

James 5: 16 (ISV) “Therefore, make it your habit to confess your sings to one another and to pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective”.

Prayer for Our Marriage

Prayer for Marriage
Father we thank you for our marriages. We thank you because you have put us together for the glory of your name. May we glorify you in our marriages this year. I pray that every husband will stand in his position as the head of the home, and do all that you have required of him as a husband.

I pray for every married woman represented here Lord. I pray that she too will take her position as a helper and do all that is required of her in accordance with your word in Jesus name.

I pray that couples will communicate better this year. That they will submit one to another, using the wisdom given to each one to build their marriage and their family. Increase in them love and honor for one another. Cause them to have a deep understanding of their spouse so that they can fit into each others lives with ease.

I pray for a spirit of humility so that they will repent to one another and forgive each other quickly and easily. Help them to live together with understanding and consideration, each one considering the other to be better than themselves. Help couples to put each other first, to rebuke and reject any outside influence that comes to cause chaos in the union, and to sift through all advice given so that they take the good and leave the bad.

Show each person their mistakes, and give them the grace to work on themselves to bring change. In Jesus name I rebuke and reject every spirit of strife, discord, and unforgiveness in my marriage and ask that Jesus be Lord of this marriage now and forever more.

We look forward to a wonderful year 2019, building our marriages on the rock, and becoming stronger and closer as a couple. In Jesus name I pray, Amen!

FINANCIAL ADVICE 2019

FINANCIAL ADVICE

What can you do to reduce financial strain? A financial expert Dr Paul Kibicho advises.

1.       Choose sacco savings instead of bank

Why, you ask?

A.) When you take a loan from a Sacco, you are still saving, and you are still receiving dividends every year. If you take a loan with a bank, by the time you are paying it back, you will have no savings and you will pay interest on top of it with no residual value.

B.) When saving with a co-operative, they pay a benevolent fund if you die. They pay a certain amount for the funeral. The loan is also waived, but in addition to that, your family is given the amount of money equal two times the number of shares you had with them. The people you nominated will be given money according to the percentages you had indicated.

C.) You can also go for an emergency loan or a school fees loan that is cost friendly. They charge one per cent interest per month, at a reducing balance.
D.) While banks ask for a loan collateral like a title, share certificate or log book of your car , saccos only ask for guarantors.

2. Re-consider your school fees paying method

You do not have to pay school fees termly. Visit the school and negotiate with the principal so that you can agree on paying monthly instead of at the beginning of every term. You can also have an education fund for your children. There are institutions that take care of this. In my case, I have already paid my children’s school fees up to form four, so I will never have to have a funds drive in case of anything. By the end of it you may actually get a refund of some of your money, like I was given a refund of Sh19,000 when my daughter finished school at Limuru Girls and another refund of Sh22,000 when she finished school at Daystar University.

3. Other than savings, have an emergency fund

It is better to have an umbrella you do not require, than to require an umbrella you do not have. Anything can happen, especially on a single income. Access to medical care in Kenya is very expensive. If you get sick and require to be admitted to the Intensive Care Unit or High Dependency Unit for example, the minimum deposit just for admission is Sh400,000. You need to have a medical scheme, or at the very least be under the National health Insurance Fund (NHIF). It has been repackaged to cater for treatment even abroad and their premiums are pocket-friendly.

4.       Significantly tame your bills

Want ideas?

Small things like leaving your lights on and powering luxury appliances means having an extra unnecessary expenditure. Avoid having ‘extra’ people in your house. You should not have a comfortable guest room. In fact, it should have a very thin mattress so that they are not tempted to stay more than one night. Guests are an extra expense.

If you have to take your family for a holiday, go during the lowest seasons. You can find accommodation in Mombasa that goes for Sh30,000 per night going for as low as Sh6,000 per night. Avoid competition with others in life. Do not keep moving homes.

Avoid renting if you can. It is better to be going to work  from your own house in Kamulu than from a rented home in Runda.

Do not rack up your phone charges by talking on the phone unnecessarily. Don’t call everyone back.

Avoid impulse buying. Carry a shopping list and stick to it religiously because it controls your buying behaviour.

5.       You must have life insurance

On a single income, only one person is the breadwinner. If that person dies, if they had life insurance, that insurance replaces the income that the breadwinner was bringing in for the family members. Without it, your family will be left in a very dire situation.

6.      Create extra income

Robert Kiyosaki says, “It is more important to grow your income than cut your expenses. It’s more important to grow your spirit that cut your dreams.” The greatest disservice you can do to yourself is to continue relying on that one source of income. What if it, too, suddenly gets cut off? Where does that leave you? Only poor people oversleep. If you go on the road at 4AM you will see Prados, Landcruisers, and other big cars. At 6AM is when you start seeing the Proboxes and Vitzes. That should show you how early wealthy people wake up. When did you last see Bob Collymore trapped in traffic? If you have an 8 to 5 job, what are you doing between 6 and 8? Do poultry rearing, get a dairy cow – anything it takes to get an extra income during your extra hours.

7.       Utilise your energy levels

Between the age of 0 to 25, you were a non-producer but a consumer and were taken care of by your parents.

Between 25 to 60, you become a producer, by earning your own living, but you are still a consumer. Because your energy levels are high, this should be your prime earning time, but most people consider it their prime eating time. This is also when you have added responsibility due to marriage. Between 60 to 100, you become a non-producer but you are still a consumer. A wise person would be relying on the investments they had made during their prime earning time and not their children. Have retirement plans  for your old age.

8.       Manage your debts

Do not keep borrowing without a plan. Let the money you borrow go to its intended purpose immediately. Do not keep it in the bank. When you do this, needs arise and you end up using it for those needs. Only have debts that have meaningful consumption. Do not take loans for home improvement. That is a want, not a need.

9.   Be open about your earnings

Many people hide their payslips from their non-working spouses, which is a recipe for familial disaster. Show your spouse what you earn to avoid domestic problems, failure to which can mean spending more money down the road as you try to resolve problems between you. Being open about your earnings also means being honest if you cannot afford some of the family’s wants (not needs). Do not take debt to cover unnecessary costs. Living on debt means that you are treading on water, and this means that you will eventually sink and drown.  Spend wisely and spend less than you earn.

Truly A Happy New Year 2019

CITAM VALLEY ROAD
THE YEAR'S THEME:NOT BY MIGHT NOR BY POWER BUT BY THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD

NEW YEAR'S MESSAGE 2019

SEVEN WAYS TO HAPPINESS

Bishop Dr. David Oginde

A true happy year does not come by one crossing the year. A crossover does not make a happy new year.

So how to truly have a happy new year.
The bible has shows us many ways of enjoying and experiencing  this .

Philippians 4:2-9
1.Release your enemies
2.Reconcile with others
3.Rejoice in the Lord always
4.Respect Everyone
5.Relax
6.Refocus your thinking
7.Redirect your walk

1. RELEASE YOUR ENEMIES
To enjoy a peaceful life you must release your enemies
One of a sure thing to rob you off your happiness is disagreement.
The closer that person is to you in relationship is worse it becomes.
The faster you release that person and forgive them the better and more you will enjoy the new year. Get rid of any form of anger, bitterness, resentment.

2. RECONCILE WITH YOUR FRIENDS AND RELATIVES
Even if you are not directly involved in the issue you will still not be able to enjoy your year
Reconcile others so that in their  peace you will have peace.
Don't add fuel
Don't take sides be a peace maker.

3. REJOICE IN THE LORD ALWAYS
The secret to enjoy is to rejoice always
The new is going to come with its own challenges but it's rather to take it up with a positive attitude
Psalm 118:24
This is the day that the Lord has made I will rejoice and be glad in it.
It's possible to face each day with joy.
Be places where people are positive, enjoy laughter, laugh.
Why are you disfigured while Jesus face was disfigured on your behalf

4. RESPECT EVERYONE
We are to be gentle with everyone, be kind
Prov 15:1
How you respond to people matters .
You can't enjoy life while you are fighting with everyone around you.
Let your gentleness be seen by Everyone

5. RELAX
DO not be anxious about anything but with prayer and petition let your request be known unto the Lord and the peace of God will guard your heart.
And you will enjoy a happy new year.
Things that Rob us joy are anxiousness and worry

6. REFOCUS YOUR THINKING
Whatever is pure, trust worthy ......
If you consistently see the positive you will be positive the opposite is true
Always be in the positive.
Your perspective to life will determine the kind of  life you will have .
The son of Hannah is called Samuel the sons of Peninah we have no idea.
When the Lord comes through you will have a name

Five ways through which thoughts enter our minds ,  ie touching, seeing, tasting , hearing and smelling but two are very significant seeing and hearing so be careful what you see and hear. They are very powerful.

7. REDIRECT YOUR WALK
Paul says Whatever you have heard or seen, received, learnt put that into practice
The God of peace will be with you.

Peace brings happiness, when you have peace you can enjoy life.

We have the peace of God and the God of peace .
